In Feb of 2010 I have posted a post in my Financial Freedom - The Venus project about John Lennon. It resonates what you have said in your previous post. He is one of not too many who made profound changes in human consciousness in modern times. I put him on the same level as Mahatma Ghandi, Mother Teresea and Martin Luther King.
As we look back in our history, we can see many people who had similar dreams like those of Jacques Fresco. The main difference is that those people were not that clear what they were looking for. They knew they didn't like the current state of affairs. They didn't like the fact that wars were created to solve the problems of few at the top and they didn't like the fact that majority of the population was slaving for the few at the top. They didn't like the fact that wherever they looked, there was corruption and people who seemed resonable in time of the test were failing, either by joining the corrupt world or just shutting their mouths so corruption could go on while they were able to continue their lives and turning their heads away.
One of the great people from very recent history was John Lennon. John Lennon official death story is very questionable and we all know what he was standing for. He had all the money and he could afford almost anything, yet he was against establishment. His mission wasn't going after specific politicians or corrupt people. His message was peace. Just spreading of this message was enough to assassination him. He appeared to be gaining support and large following. He was dangerous to establishment. More and more people wanted peace. Peace as very noble goal is very illusive though and impractical in our world. We fight our small wars each day with our kids, parents, friends and coworkers. So peace as a direction and a goal can't be enough to change the consciousness of our planet.
Here is short story of certain interview with John Lennon. Very big dreamer.
In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan snuckinto John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced him to do aninterview. 38 years later, Levitan, director Josh Raskin andillustrators James Braithwaite and Alex Kurina have collaborated tocreate an animated short film using the original interview recording asthe soundtrack. A spellbinding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit andtimeless message, I Met the Walrus was nominated for the 2008 AcademyAward for Animated Short and won the 2009 Emmy for 'New Approaches'(making it the first film to win an Emmy on behalf of the internet).
