Introducing concept of society where every product has life-time guarantee. In my series of articles inspired by Jacques Frecso and his Venus Project, there is another area which is not clear how should be implemented. This is the step of transition. How do we get from market driven economy to resource based economy. Usually Jacques Fresco has no answer to this question, or at least he is not providing this answer. His usual argumentation is that humanity is on collision course with nature and with itself and if this is not changed, humanity might not survive. He is also suggesting that the cataclysmic or self-destructive behaviour is coming to the end, and humanity will be faced one day with reality which will not leave to itself other choice other than accepting his idea or it will be gone from the surface of the earth.
This sounds very plausible, but many eager followers would like to start implementing his ideas. They are excited and they are not happy with the current state of affairs. Just today I have received this invitation to Facebook group discussion .
I'am frustrated with a constant question I sadly cannot answer because I do not know how to challenge it properly, I would like your help. Gandhi once said " You can speak of your ideas of change or try to force people to change, but the best way is to be the change yourself and be an example to those you seek to educate or change" taking this into account how can we go about proclaiming zeitgeist when we ourselves are still locked into the monetary system? we need to unify and find a way to show people that another way of life is possible right now here and now, to try and convince people to change the world for centuries beyond will not work with the current state of consciousness , because we have been brought up to think only about ourselves before we take into account anyone else. ( hero's are the people who think of other people before themselves, so we must all shed citizen's way of thinking and all take upon us the role of hero's (( per say )) . LET US UNIFY and truly shed our monetary ways and beliefs and show the world change is possible HERE AND NOW !!!!!! |
So how do we turn the table and start utilizing those young minds for the good of all?
I will admit that I myself have no certain way how to change 2000 years or more of developments of humanity into something new which has to forget about patriotism, religions, private property, profit, being rich, languages and so on, but I believe I have an idea which I have not seen anywhere proposed to this moment, which can provide a vital step to turning away from market driven economy. Market driven economy is outdated today. It causes waste, crappy products, exploitation of people and land, wars, crime, drugs, corruption and most other negative elements we have to face each day of our lives. Its concepts are totally flowed. E.g. health industry or jail industry is counted as part of GDP, meaning that when we have more inmates and dead or sick people, our GDP gets bigger. The more we sell (no matter how crappy this is ) the better. Financial products are about 45% of US GDP. I don't need to explain here that non of the financial products, contributes anything to society.
My idea is that producer of tangible goods and services (I'm not including here such ideas like health care art or education and other non-technicall ideas) would have to give life time warranty on any goods or services they offer.
What this means that no company can sell the product and not take responsibility for its functioning. Products like electronics should be designed in such a way that upgrades are possible and if this is not practical, the producer is required to take the old product back and use its value towards portion of value of newer version.
With such an approach we are merging here two areas, production and service into one. The manufacturer is responsible for the product functioning and its utilization after it is outdated or not fixable anymore. There is no other law but this one, which says that the producing party takes responsibility for their product for life.
This approach eliminates many problems we face today.
1. No more wasteful production as need to deal with consequences will force the manufactures to produce their products with least amount of waste.
2. No more crappy products, and even if they break, we never have to worry about it.
3. Any new inventions, always takes into account existing solutions and makes upgrades possible, or allow on acquiring newer technology after credit is given for the old products.
4. There is no unnecessary transportation of one product from one part of the world to other, because each company will want to stay more efficient and economical with their costs.
5. No more need to outsource the production as the manufacturer has no incentive in producing less quality cheap products.
6. No need for advertising as the word of mouth will do the justice to the best manufacturer or product.
7. No need for politicians to deal with trade issues as the best survives and politicians role would be to ensure that its country production has the best research facilities possible.
Remember Swiss watches?
8. No need to suppress any new invention (e.g. free energy sources for sake of oil industry)
9. The list could go on.
Next article will be on topic "Majority rules" is outdated. Now comes rule of all and/or one.
